MediaTek outs its Second octa-core MTK6595, Cortex-A17, PowerVR Rogue, LTE processor for $200 LTE smartphones

Chinese chipset maker MediaTek has announced a new SoC for smartphones and tablets that promises to take the company into new markets. The octo-core MT6595 features big.LITTLE ARM Cortex-A17, PowerVR Rogue Series 6, H.265 UHD video, 802.11ac, and LTE.

You'll soon be able to buy LTE smartphones powered by a processor with eight cores for between $200 and $300 without subsidies, thanks to MediaTek’s latest SoC (system-on-a-chip).

Galaxy S4′s latest benchmark confirms Samsung’s Exynos 5 Octa kills Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 600

Today at SamMobile, we received the latest benchmark tests of the Galaxy S4 GT-I9500 (Exynos 5 Octa variant) with Samsung’s latest test firmware installed and the results are highly impressive. In previous test firmwares Samsung had clocked the Exynos 5 Octa CPU to 1.8GHz but in the most recent test firmware it has been decreased to 1.6GHz, as Samsung officially announced.

LG D801 scores highest GLBenchmark to date

An unannounced LG D801 smartphone looks to be one of the most powerful devices to date, according to recently uncovered GLBenchmark GPU benchmarking scores. Found to be running Android 4.2.2, the LG handset also figures to have a  Snapdragon 800 (MSM8974) processor and Adreno 330 GPU .
